Leveling by lowering rear end

I just had new tires installed on my 2017 CC Lariat 4x4 6.7 F250 and planned on installing the BDS 2" front leveling spacers I ordered. After installing the Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 295/65R20 on factory wheels I realized there was no rubbing that I could see anywhere and liked the factory height in the front but still wanted a more level stance. Has anyone installed or even considered replacing the rear +/- 3" blocks with shorter ones? I've found several companies selling 1" and 1.5" machined aluminum blocks and I may do this myself this week. There appears to be close to 2" of usable thread on the factory u-bolts to do this.

Would you kindly post the companies that are selling shorter blocks? Lots of guys have been searching for just this solution. On the U-bolts... they are not to be reused. They stretch in on initial torquing and shouldn't be used a second time. They are cheap though so that's not an issue. Anyways, please post the blocks you found!!!

Could we get a photo of the Nitto's on the factory wheels? Thinking of going this direction myself.

IMHO...do not use any blocks that do not include the bump stop landing pads. Especially if you want to use your SD to carry any payload.

My suggestion...is to take a look at the 2017 OEM 4x2 SD blocks.

Exactly. The blocks in all the links provided were not meant to be stand alone replacement blocks. They were all meant to go above an existing block to add lift. I'm still waiting to find a real replacement shorter block.

As to the 2017 4x2, that won't work though. They now come with no blocks at all.

I am thinking of doing the same thing when I get my 2017 but it appears that the factory blocks have "ears" that the axle bumpers will hit before hitting the axle to protect the brake lines. Without that the brake lines could be damaged when the truck is loaded and the suspension travels to maximum...

If the '17 springs are 3" like the previous gen SD's, then the 4x2 from a 2011 thru 2016 might do the job. That would have to be verified by someone actually wanting to do the mod.

If they would fit, that would provide a 1" drop going from a 3" block to a 2". It might be just enough for some of us. I agree, I'd love to hear of someone trying it.

If I'm reading these replies correctly, some are saying do not use these blocks stand alone because they do bot have bump stop "ears" sticking out the side but to use 4x2 blocks instead. If 4x2's have no blocks, what do the bump stops contact on those trucks? FYI - I would also air bag overload springs.

Just confirmed at local dealer on 2 different 4x2's - they do not have rear blocks and bump stops would contact the axle. I will be swapping the stock blocks with 1" blocks which on my particular truck will leave me being 1" higher in he rear. Will post pics.

What you're missing is that on a 2x4 with no blocks, it can only go so far and then the bumpstop hits the axle tube. By adding a block without the ear, it will allow the springs to go further before hitting the axle. This may allow the spring to extend/flex too far before the bumpstop comes into contact.

Good luck with it! I for one...am interested in your results.

Actually, I'm not missing that point. As I stated in an earlier post, I'll be adding air overload springs to combat this specific scenario.

Airbags are designed to augment a specific stock height. When used on a lowered truck, they will raise it to stock height and cancel out the drop you achieved by changing the blocks. Many are also designed to utilize the block ears that you won't have.
