I have a 02 f250 bone stock that i just picked up with 82000 miles on her. I just wanted to do a leveling kit on her to get a meaner look. The shop that i called said they could do a 1.5" level for about $400. I was looking for a 2.5 to 3" level but they said that the kits they used just went up to 1.5". The next step was 4" lift. $1600 for everything. I wasn't looking to do that but I have the money to.
My question is, should i just get the level or just have them do the 4" lift?? I will be using this for my daily driver and pulling my 27' camper a few times a year.. Any suggestions??
Lift advice.... don't lift it. That's the best advice I can give.
Second best advice I can give is if you're going to lift it don't be a cheap a** and lift it! If you buy a cheap suspension expect it to be just that... a cheap POS!
As far as what Bill said about mileage. Every truck is different. My old f250 from stock sized tires to 35s, 36s and 38x15 mud tires I never seen a difference in mileage.
The higher, the less stable at speed. Any steering input is magnified by a higher center of gravity, especially when towing. Trailers can cause stability problems if the hitch isn't designed to prevent fishtailing.
