leveling kit not enough

I know I don't need a lift but I really want one. I did the leveling thing, don't like it! So heres the question will a 4" kit be any better? I don't want a huge pain in the butt truck to get into but I really like the look of a lift on these guys! I was thinking 6" lift but will that be to much? Anyone around the Raleigh NC area with a x that has either of these lifts on their trucks?

Thanks!

Beth

Either way 4 or 6 inch is a good size lift for a ex. How much are u planning on spending?

price not an issue just don't want to waste money again . Is there a big change between the level kit and the 4" lift?
thanks

if u get the truck with a four inch lift u wont have trouble getting into it while upgrading the look or "stance" of ur truck. Are u looking for ride quality and offroad reliablity? If u are go with Fabtech or Donahoe racing. Everytime i went over a bump, my rear suspension would always feel like it is always going to right. The fabtech fixed this and my ride quality is alot better then stock. I paid $950. It might be more if u have a 4x4.

Beth,

My wife and I apparantly have "liftitis". You seem to have similar simptoms and might have the same disease

We had a 1/2ton Sub with a 3" lift and 33's (not too disimilar to your leveling kit probably). She wanted something a little bigger so I had her point out trucks on the road that she liked (particularly SD's and Ex's with lifts on them). What I found was that she wanted something 1 step larger than what is "most" common.

We ended up with the truck below.
This is MUCH larger than most Ex's you will see, but it drives excellent, has great visibility, and the dog can still get in the back without any issues . We have the AMP steps to help the kids out and even my 4 year old doesn't have any issues getting in.

This is probably a long shot from what you are considering but my point is that there is actually not that much distance between a "leveling kit" and a large lift.

If it were me, I would go with the Donahoe kit.

I am pretty certain you must also have "liftitis"

I should update my pic's, we have removed the spare tire on the rack (didn't like the look or the added weight and wind restriction). I also need to take pic's with the step's down.

Donahoe makes a 7" kit that would be perfect with 37's and in my mind is about the perfect combination with the Ex.
