I thought the fronts from the 16's are the same as the 17?

Thanks and Merry Christmas

From what I recall talking with one of my engineers, either the front or rear are different. I just recall them saying Q1 hopefully.

While we are waiting, for those of us who have never owned Rancho or any other more advanced aftermarket shocks can you tell us how they would be an improvement over the factory shocks?

I have owned 5 trucks, two F150's two Ram 1500's and now this F350. For me its the small bumps when running empty that I would like better dampening on.

A main thing that sets the adjustable 9000XL a part is just the size of the shock itself. Most of them are 2.75" in diameter on the shock body.
Bigger body means more oil/gas. Larger shock rod, and better valving in general. Also many like the 9000's for the adjustability of it.
When I tow I crank the rear from a 4 to a 7-8 or so.

A lot of people like a monotube style shock like our RS7000MT or the Bilstein shock. A monotube will have a high pressure nitrogen gas charge. This will give the truck a firmer ride, some will say it is "harsh". Most of the times this style shock is bigger than OE too.

So what is the diameter of the Rancho's? What exactly is adjustable, dampening or rebound? My brother manufactures shocks and forks for road racing motorbikes so I have a limited understanding of dampening.

You have a solid knowledge actually
2.75" is general is the shock body.
The shock rod is 18mm
The adjustable **** at the base of the shock works on both dampening and rebound.

For those of you who have them, do you really need the adjustability of the front shocks or do you leave them set at the same all the time and would you buy them again?
Just to answer the original question, we leave our front set the same and only adjust the rear. Different truck, suspension, etc so your results will probably be different.

One thing I did promise myself, though, was that when we replace them, I'm paying the big bucks & getting the remote control version. Our truck is very susceptible to what I consider a harmonic bounce on concert interstates. When researching the Rancho 9000s, I came across reviews that stated the firmest setting reduced that bounce. Thought it'd be nice to be able to adjust the 9000s as we changed road surfaces. 2017s different truck, suspension, wheelbase, so all that will change...I hope for the better. David

Red face

Just a heads up on that, we no longer offer the myRIDE, the wireless system. They do exist out there and work great with the 9000's on this platform though.

I just email Rancho and got a response that will be available in March

Hello, I trying to find out if the RS9000 series shock are going to be available for the 2017 super duty’s. I put them on my 2012 super duty that I use for plowing as well as carrying a truck camper and I found they make a tremendous difference. I’m looking to put them on the new truck as soon as I can get them.
Thank you

Hoping in the next few weeks. I was told production and launch February.
If I recall it was the front that was the change up.
Works out too, as it takes a couple of weeks to get into the supply chain and March 1st is when our Spring promo starts.

If you buy online, KEEP your boxes, will need the UPC’s of them.
