Need some info

I saw a 1997 F-250HD Super duty, supercab, 4x4, longed, 460. I've been looking around for some info on it and really couldn't find much proformance part or aftermarket for the truck. I'm just looking to see what is there for it and if I was to rebuild it but like overhaul the engine what would be the best way to get parts? Would it be the same as a 94.5 to 96? They put doesn't need smog tests, has a small oil leak from the oil pan, will need front end work soon, has 148k. But there's a bent in the bed from a hit and run by a snow plow town truck, really couldn't get to see what the frame looks like. I'm in New York. The truck has one cat. on it but what if you were to put duals on it like 2.5"-3" with no cats. Will it be street legal? What is the enigne like in stock form? Again I'm just looking to see what's out there for it.

There are some small gains to be made with headers and stock EFI friendly camshafts. Appearance mods are plenty. Body panels, or whole cabs, beds aren't hard to find. Rust will be a major issue in New York. Rebuilding the front axle can get expensive if you have a shop do it for you. Engine rebuild will be limited to mostly stock parts, but there are performance options. Parts will be the mostly same from '88-'97 when they discontinued the 460. I think the only changes were a new cylinder head in the mid '90's and a MAF upgrade to trucks sold in California. You'll still be limited by the stock EFI which can be replaced with other alternatives if your pockets are deep enough/skilled enough; unless it is MAF then you have the better stock EFI, and can upgrade air/fuel delivery more easily. Any modification from stock on the exhaust is illegal. You'll need a cat to be legal.
