I have a 1990 E350 with 7.5 liter engine class C. It is running hot, I reverse flushed the cooling system, replaced thermostat, water pump and fan clutch. Next time out started heating up again then could not accelerate unless feather the throttle until I got to third and fourth gears. Once I got to third and fourth, could accelerate again.
Any ideas?
Correct rotation water pump? What did the fluid look like when you flushed it and how did you flush it? Does it run hot at idle or only when moving? Feeling of your radiator are your fins hot all the way down? (No rows blocked) I had a 460 that I had to drill small holes in the thermostat to get it to burp the air out easily. Are you losing any antifreeze? Can you hear it boiling when you come to a stop? When you hit 3rd and 4th gear is it still overheating or has the temps come down with the increase in speed.
Yes correct direction, the cooling system was clean, hot only moving, no rows blocked, it was burped, not loosing antifreeze now, yes I have heard it boiling, and in 3rd and 4th the temp stays up.
