I am looking real hard at the FiTech set-up. I bet it starts, runs, and idles great with that huh? Is the throttle response and gas mileage better since putting that on your truck? Did you use their sump kit or their return kit? It seems like a pretty straight forward install that can be done in a weekend... What are your likes/dislikes with the FiTech kit?
Haven't had a problem with it since ironing out the initial issues. Throttle response is amazing. When i took it hunting last month I averaged 15mpg at around 70mph. I did not use their sump kit, I modified a 38 gallon tank for in tank electric pump, and ran my own lines.
I like everything about it, except the main issue I had getting it to work. The RPM input wire needs to be isolated from every other wire. I had a lot of issues trying to get the truck to run correctly until I isolated that wire.
Glad to hear this about the FiTech. The owner of that company came up with the Powerjection which he sold the rights to Professional Products. Then started FiTech. The Powerjection was junk then, glad to hear he got this one right.
I have the Fast EZ-EFI on my cutlass. I got 10mpg driving like an old women with a carburetor, then I got 13mpg with EFI and that was driving the snot out of it.
After market fuel injection is great. Throttle response is incredible and the extra MPG is nice. The engine starts up alot faster.
My truck, I'm going with the Holley Sniper EFI. I hope to have it next month, wish I got it before winter but oh well. I was thinking of going with the FiTech until the Sniper came out. I like how affordable they are now. The Fast EZ-EFI wasnt cheap.
Well I thought I'd give an update. I installed a performer intake and 1406 carburetor this past weekend and wow what a difference! It starts right up, idles like a dream, and the extra throttle response is amazing! I think I will forego the ignition upgrades for now and continue to ride around on the Dura-Spark set-up. I have found a few oil leaks that need to be addressed around my valve covers, and what seems to be a rear-crank seal leak! I hope it is just the valve covers leaking at the back of the heads and oozing into the bell housing. Now I'm off to research a good exhaust system to help her breath a bit better

Thanks for the update! The intake and carb is a great upgrade after the factory 2 barrel.
I hope for your sake it's not a rear main seal. Did mine a month ago-what a nightmare. I ended up pulling the engine to make the job easier.

she surely has more pep! I too hope it ain't the rear main seal because I just replaced it a few months ago after the engine was out for other work. I plan on throwing some Lucas stop leak in there and hope for the best. It really needs a rebuild but I will do that later on.
