F350 won't crank,no noise
I have a 1996 F350 with a 460 engine and a C6 trans. When I turn the key there is NO noise, won't crank. It will crank and start if I jump the two big terminals at the fender mounted solenoid.I have a used solenoid that I tried with the same result.I checked the battery voltage and I have 12.5 volts at the battery. When I disconnect the plug to the "S" terminal of the solenoid and hookup my fluke meter I get 1.1 to 1.5 volts when the key is turned to the crank position.I replaced the ignition lock because it was sloppy and the outside thumb tumbler would turn without the key.The starter was checked before installation.I did find two wires in the harness near the transmission crossmember leading to the transmission mounted neutral switch that had the insulation chaffed off.I repaired those, still no crank. The original owner added a momentary switch under the dash to the starter solenoid so I would say theres been a problem right along. Any suggestions??

Engine won't crank
I think I see what you are talking about. There is a harness that exits below the ignition switch (key lock) and travels down the column to somewhere at the base of the column.Problem is the weather took a dump around here and I haven't looked at it again.Anyhow if it cranks jumping the yellow wire to the red, blue tracer than what??
