If the cab mounts are solid and that cab and bed are as good as they look that truck should be a frame off. Just my opinion and I know that some don't have the money, time or inclination but whenever I see a bump that appears to be original and is solid I want to see them restored. Same with the " slicks ".
How are the floor pans, radiator support, and bushings?
My rotted radiator support ultimately turned my " paint job " into a resto / upgrade for much of the truck. LOL whenever I think about it as I look at all the parts occupying my basement.
Also, be fore-warned, The guys on this site will show you really cool things to: do/change/incorporate/upgrade. If you don't want to end up like me stay way!!!! LMAO. Greater bunch of guys you won't find anywhere else except maybe the military. And that is no Bull!!!!
I agree '72, and excellent way of 'couching' what we are all about. I too, have had my truck quite awhile, and although I did most of my own maintenance, slowly things took on the appearance of neglect. A simple "I will repaint it", also turned into a complete 4 year, cab off, frame up restoration. Little did I know just how much was involved, but slowly I learned, with the terrific help of the 'Bump Kingdom', I now know more about my truck, than mere ownership did for 40 years. I have so much more to learn its not funny. Who knew that something as simple as an old truck, would require a whole new area in my brain to be accessed and brought on line?
Good luck amigo, and ask away, we are here to help..
