apple car play

does anyone know how to get back from apple carplay to home screen? mine connects automatically. which I have set it to do, but I cant switch back to home screen without unplugging the cable.

You can absolutely do it without unplugging, I have done it before just to play...but cannot remember off the top of my head. Let me try it and I'll tell you shortly.

Don't know if it's the same for Apple Car Play, but in Android Auto tap the icon in the lower right part of the screen. That brings up a screen with large button across the middle of the screen saying something like "Return to Sync." Tap that and it goes back to the Sync screen, then tap the Home button in the upper left of the screen.

Here ya go: hit the Ford / Sync gray button from within CarPlay to return to the usual Sync. Then hit the CarPlay icon in the task bar at the bottom to return to CarPlay. Easy.

Does car play do tje same as android auto, once you are back to the home screen and hit voice command button to give sync a voice command, dose it go back to car play? on my android auto, as long as the phone is plugged in i cant give sync any voice commands, it default back to google.

I hate that it does that, i try to use voice commands to change temperature but can't as long as iam plugged in.

thanks troverman! I knew I missed something! and yes it does suck that once plugged in that siri takes over, including maps!

I don't know when in the carplay screen but I found out the other day when in the sync screens if you hold down the voice command button it goes from sync to siri voice command.

Maybe the other way when in the car play screen?
