Hey all, kinda been lurking for a couple weeks. I just talked to a shop that specializes in diesel repair and tuning and such.
I was wondering if anyone has deleted a 2014? And what effect does it have on the electronic monitors??? The guy said all that stuff will be unplugged and wire tied up out of the way. He is putting an all new ss exhaust, not sure if this is a common thing or not? I am worried about my digital display screen being all screwed up I guess. He is also going to do what he calls a tow tune, giving me 60 more hp,not that I need it but he said it will run so much more efficient.
hey, did my 2014 about a month ago absolutely no problems deleted the egr as well. My sctx4 also allowed me to lower the tire pressures in the tps so I dont have to run 80lbs empty
no regrets
Just be careful you're not spending money needlessly. (speaking for 2012 model, yours may vary) EGR can just be blanked off, cheap. Cold air intake is not really needed, free.
I did the cold air intake as well, didn't notice much of a difference turbo maybe a little louder, get an edge so you can monitor egt temperatures these things deleted with a tune put out some unreal power. you should watch temps especially pulling a trailer up long hills. I have mine set to make me aware when I am running hot so I can back off or drop a gear
Thx...yeah the guy told me the cold air would help cool the turbo. I dunno??? What is an edge? What temps are you telling me to watch? Engine an tranny? I keep an eye on those anyways....lol, just me...a gauge watcher
an edge is a monitor, look up edge cts2. it plugs into your obd port and monitors your truck instead of gauges. the temps you want to watch the most would be your egt and coolant temp. I have mine set to monitor egt, oil temp, trans temp, boost, coolant temp and voltage.
Cold air intake isn't going to cool your turbo. AT best it will change the sound of your intake air but have a minimal effect on performance and may ultimately hurt reliability.
