So just ordered a 2016 f 350 chassis cab lariat, I am trying to install a Ford backup camera to the existing harness say there rear of the truck, it has the factory touch screen I plugged it in, and installed the fuse in the fuse block under the hood, and still doesn't work, any solutions, I'm all ears, is there some sort of programming to do
Did you happen to find out how to get the backup camera to work. I just recently bought a 2015 Lariat and I want to install a camera on it. What all did you have to do for the installation?
Hey cwilliams, welcome to the forum. I just wanted to let you know in case you didn't catch it. But the post you replied to is over 4 years old, and the poster only has two posts. You may not hear from him. Hopefully someone will come along that can help.
My 2015 f350 camera turned blue and shut off yesterday. Removed the tailgate harness and from under the chassis unplugged. Removed the tape and found ground wire bare(no coating) and corroded. Ran a new wire 2 inches from both ends and soldered the connectiions and shrink wrap. Works like the day I bought it.
My 16 came with the camera in the emblem. If the harness is set up for it, I would assume you can plug the camera into the harness in the tailgate. As for the screen, no clue.

Not very often does the camera or screen go bad. Yes the harness does plug in to the back of the camera also. The emblem has 2 prongs that has clips and the clips are no good once you remove the ford emblem.
2 bolts hold the bezel to the tailgate. Just unscrew the 2 bolts, pull back the bezel and unplug the camera. The remove the harnes from the bottom of the tailgate. When you put it all together, just use silicone to hold the ford emblem on the bezel. It holds good. Its that damn ground wire in the harness that is junk. Easy fix to put a new ground wire.
Also had this same issue with the wife's truck 2016 F350. She insisted she needs to go to the dealership. BULL!!! Let me handle this. Watched youtube some. Well the issue was her screen went full channel 99 distorted. You know what Im talking about. Checked the harness by the spare tire, cleaned out the dirt and added dielectric grease. Same issue. Took off the ford emblem, lucky me this emblem is the type you can re attach without buying a new emblem, did the same to the plug that connects to the camera, cleaned it out and added this grease. Went to put in reverse, worked like a champ. Told my wife it works now which she did not believe until she tried it, yup my head got big, also saved me a big bill from some Ford dealership tech to do the same. Youtube helped. Best of luck to ya.
Yup, you got off cheap as Ford raised the prices on the cameras from like 100 in 2015 to $250 or more in recent years
I had my rear back up camera replaced under my extended warranty once already because the original one started acting goofy. The new one started acting weird again not long after it went in. It's been at least 9 months or so. Hopefully they got their schit together when it comes to these cameras.
Have you guys added a second camera? I want to put one in the bed above the left rear fender to help with backing up to gooseball hitch. Would also like one in the third brake light assembly. I'm thinking about upgrading to the sync 3 and wasn't sure if if I could toggle between the three cameras or would need to put a switch in line to stop one feed from the other. Has anyone tried this?
PCAM-CHMSL2-99 install on 2015 F350 Sync 2 factory rear emblem camera
Has anyone successfully added a third brake light camera to a 2015 F350, that came with a rear factory emblem camera and navigation?
specifically, echomaster PCAM-CHMSL2-99 with blind spot views?
I want to retain factory rear view cam and be able to use a factory auxiliary switch to switch to third brake cam in reverse. Hopefully the turn signals will trigger the blind spot views built into this camera in drive, at any speed. When I purchased this camera I didn’t know about video in motion lockout. The camera literature doesn’t mention it only working in reverse but I don’t have it hooked up yet to see for myself.
I don’t know where to connect the “reverse power anode output”. It says to connect it to the “reverse trigger input on the monitor. My monitor is sync 2 with 3 RCA, usb, and as slot in the compartment above the dash. I have this question posted in the 6.7 thread also. I am new to posting here, not new to reading the amazing info people share here!
thanks for any help.
