Any information of what it came out of and the year?
What brakes, disc or drums and if drums what size?
When you say "off road" what type of off road? Trails rides can use as is start racing & jumping/bouncing and you will have to build it up some.

OP said it's a 9" from a 1985 F150 (no rear disc brakes), but made no mention of the ratio, with/without Limited Slip.
If the rear axle ID tag is still there, it will have this info. If the truck is still present, the AXLE code printed on the Certification Label (once it's decoded) will also have this info.
The rear drum brakes on all 1968/79 F100, 1975/96 F150 are 11" x 2 1/4."
1980/83 F100 could have 10" x 2 1/2" or 11" x 2 1/4" rear drum brakes.

Now that you posted that I looked back over the OP and did see the 1985 & 9" that is about all I could make out

I thought the 9" was pretty much gone by 85 but I'm no expert. Unless its some holy grail I don't think you'll get much for it. I had one for sale forever and finally got iirc forty bucks for it.

8.8" introduced in 1983, but 1983 F100, 1983/86 F150/Bronco could have also have the 9" that was introduced in 1957: F100, Thunderbird and Ford Passenger Cars.
