I might be telling you all something you already know but on the 2017 super duty, the hole for the stock clearance lights is square. The light snaps into this hole and then is screwed down. My dealer is working up to putting mine in as soon as they get the wiring harness. I suppose they'll use a dremel or something to cut the holes square. They are a little nervous about it but I trust them. I asked if I could just get the '16s put on but he was told the wiring harness is different
I wish I had better news, I spent a few hours with the body shop manager at a local Ford store - The new lights require 5 square holes (1 for each light). These holes must be made with a knockout hole punch. The 2017 crew cab with vista roof has a large structural cross-member between the windshield and glass roof that is fused to the aluminum roof panel. The space where the hole for each light is in the middle of the cross-member – there is no room for a hole punch tool to clear to make the square opening. The hole has to be square because the new light snaps into the hole to seal properly. In his opinion, it is impossible to install these OEM lights unless the holes were bored when the truck was built before the panel was fused to the cab or if the cab roof panel was to be replaced – insanely expensive.
I am really upset because Frontier Ford in San Jose, CA sold me my truck with the OEM 2017 LED lights to be installed for an additional $800.00 as part of the purchase agreement (on yellow contract/agreement and also shown on a separate "Get Ready" form) as "Install OEM Roof Clearance LED Lights". I have been waiting for over 3 months for parts from this dealer, and just learned from another local Ford dealer that had a body shop (and installed lights on my 2014 truck) that this task cannot be done on my 2017 because I have the vista roof. Frontier Ford is offering the $800 back - I had a truck on order at the other local dealer (shop did not know this), and I purchased this one from Frontier Ford because they committed to me it could be done! Now they are not communicating with me - I would not have bought the truck if they could not provide the lights as per the factory - the sales rep knows this too!

So what I am hearing is that in order to do this the lights MUST be installed PRE support bean if you have the moonie roof (which I did not want, but did want lights).
Guess I better contact my dealer tomorrow as they have been working on this since before Christmas....
Yes, that is what I learned - the dealer that spent a bit of time looking at this had put the OEM lights on my 2005, 2012 and 2013 trucks. The 2012 and 2013 were pretty straight forward - it required the 5 lights and a harness with 5 mod connectors that ran down the pillar and to a connector under the dash.

I am looking into my options, I tried to discuss with GM at Frontier Ford and he didn't want to deal with it. I'll keep the post updated, please let me know if anyone hears any other details pertaining to installing these lights on a built 2017 crew cab with vista roof - thanks!

Again, I am really disappointed...
If I could get my eyeballs on it I bet there is a way:
IF the square tab could be cut off maybe it would be possible to do a pop rivet????
OR leave square in place, cut hole for it to slip into and use a 3M body panel epoxy (EVER tried to remove?) be locked on forever!
Show me the support beam: Can we cut holes in it below where the lights would be installed? Or cut the beam out then weld back in...where's my Miller and spoolgun?
Impossible, NO, improbable maybe so...guy wanders over to your pit after getting beat on the 1320 and says: how did you beat me in that 350 SBC, I got almost 75 more cubic inches than you do? Yea, I know you do, but I have more cubic dollars then you did....
So maybe a bridge to far, don't need a $1000 light job LOL
They're Recons. A local 4x4 shop did the work and ordered the lights, not sure where they ordered them from. They only charged my $350 total but the owner admitted he under quoted me, said he had a guy working on it for the whole day.
He also added that once you pull the hardware, the headliner is held in place with magnets (not sure how this works with the aluminum roof), he said it was really easy to work with.
