What else besides a sticky plunger, would cause the fp reading to be all over the map. According to my gauge, I'm at 78/79psi at idle, but can see it dip to 70ish or spike to 90 while using our driving.
My cv's are removed, fp reading is pre-filter and wiring seems good
That's pretty high. I'd suspect that sticky FPR plunger and maybe with a cockeyed spring. As you probably know, the FPR is fragile so be gentle.
When I got my truck the PO had one of those fuel filters with built in cap. Looked clean so I reused it. I was mildly cussing at it since it did not want to thread back on easy. Turns out a sliver of the black cap material was shaved off by the sharp bowl threads, and it soon jammed itself into the hole on the plunger. Something to look for.
What are you using to watch fuel pressure? I would suspect a problem with the gauge at that kind of reading. Have you touched the fuel system/regulator lately?
"wiring seems good".... Might as well play pick up sticks with my buttcheeks.
. Reached under dash and what v you know, f/p reading pegs 85/86psi and holds there. Think, that's easy to high. Then, while driving to work, with the "plush" suspension of our vehicles, wires will be bouncing and sure enough, gauge needle starts bouncing.... Guess I need to do more thorough investigating. Funny though, none of the other gauges are affected(2pyros, volts andoil pressure), but yet the b powers and grounds share the same white/spots
My Isspro EV-2 started doing that except it would go all the way to zero then bounce way up high again, all over the map. I re-made all the connections and cleaned the spade connection on the sender and it was OK for a short while but started doing it again every time I'd go on the highway. Finally ordered a new sender and that fixed it for over a year now.
