9inch rear end

Im gonna be completely honest I dumped the clutch trying to do a burnout in my 1979 f150 4x4 with a 9inch rear. And something in the rear end broke because I have no power to the rear wheels. My driveshaft speaking me but the rear end just makes a clicking sound. Before my rear end showed no signs of getting weak. I'm just curious to see what you guys think I broke and what I should do from here. I know I'm stupid and it was a bad idea but it's my daily driver so I need to get it fixed.

First thing I would check is the slip yoke/stub shaft. If it stripped the upper part of the drive shaft would turn but not the lower part. If you are lucky that is all it is. If not you might as well pull axles and center section.

If the pinion turns but the rear end only clicks you could have broke one of the axles. Sometime they shear off at the differential's side gear. I did it once during my foolish youth years. Some of life's lessons can be costly. It may cancel your racing tendencies as it did mine.
