Tired of the wait, now looking at end of December for delivery. I don't have faith that the truck will be here by then to take advantage of tax write-off.
If there are any dealers in the south central to east Texas area with a 250/350 with lariat or king ranch ultimate package, long bed, power stroke, 4x4, spray bed liner in white gold, blue jean or caribou send me a message. I'm ready to go.
My build seems slower than other folks, ordered first week of september, being built this week.. and still lines up with my expectations that in America, popular custom cars take ~3mo from order to delivery.
Ordered the second week of August. After four weeks of waiting for a vin, got a message that was delayed. Delay was due to a miskeying of order. Had expected truck by Thanksgiving. Just received vin this past week. Shows to still be processing with a date of December 18. That means we are getting into holidays for shipment. I know that is the normal backlog and timeframe, but I'm not that patient.
I understand. I have always been an impulsive lot buyer. Thought I would give the custome order thing a try. Defenitely does not work with my personality and the wife is ready to kick me out of the house. Have to go back to what I know best, kicking tires and writing checks.
if its "in processing" are you sure that December 18 date isn't ETA? Has your window sticker shown up yet?
Says start date dec 12 and end date dec 18. Have not received window sticker, dealer doesn't want to price truck to me or give me a trade in value until truck arrives. Like I said before, I'm too impulsive for that game. Time to take a Sunday drive and find my truck. Just seeing if there are any dealers trolling the site that want to sell me a truck.

Some people may laugh, but I completely get what you mean about not having the personality to wait. Now, my wait was only four weeks, because I gave in and just purchased one from the lot due to losing my mind. I have OCD (actually), and once I got the idea of a new truck in my head, I could not do anything other than think about the truck. I would sit in my office, building and rebuilding on Ford's website. I'd do the same in bed. I continually checked other dealer's inventory as well. I just could not let the thought go until I had the truck. Finally, I called my dealer and asked them to find me a truck, and was honest about why. They refused, and within 72 hours I had a truck purchased from another dealership. Lesson learned, and I will never order again.
And so people don't think I am a jerk for blowing off the dealership: They were a hot mess. Sold a truck out from under me, causing me to have to order. Initially said it would only be 3-5 weeks (I was new to the order process), and then proceeded to lie to me about the order status, saying it was on the assembly line when the order had not even been picked.
Have you talked to the dealership, and told them exactly how you are feeling? If they know you are about to walk, they might actually ask their regional rep to bump up the order.
Just call some dealers in your region and have them find you one. They have access to what is out there.
Already stopped by 4 dealers on way home from dropping kids with their mom. Will be making calls in morning and hopefully shoring up a deal by end of the week.

Family has been purchasing from this dealership for close to 30 years. I have bought 3-4 vehicles from them and countless others from other dealers. Generally don't like dealing with them, just trying to give them a chance to win my business back. My wife uses them, she has the patience, I'll go elsewhere
