Hi, so my truck has a few miles on it since the engine swap and my initial mpg numbers are a little lower than I had hoped. With my 35's and a untility bed empty it seems to be getting around 15mpg around town mostly.
Mpg related mods include:
4x4 SRW
35" mudtires
Mishimoto 200° stat
archoil 9100
atlas40 tune on my fcim
Blue spring update
Synthetic 5w-40 oil
Egr blocked
3.73 gears
Is this about all that can be expected? Is ere any way to get the numbers up without risking head bolt issues with more tuning?
Similar for me. Excursion. 14 city, 20 hwy. approx. could get better if I drove for mpg. Stock tuning. Not sure how, but MPG not much lower with 10k lb trailer.
You have FICM tuning, but PCM/TCM tuning could help MPG. Not vouching for non-stock tuning. Knobby tires and underinflation will hurt your numbers too, if that's applicable to your truck. Cetane-boosting additives may help as well. Synthetic / lower viscosity motor oil helps some.

Is that mileage hand calculated or coming from the lieometer? I ask because it seems a little high for intown driving, a lot of us get less...it also seems a little low for highway travel... personally 13/17 is where I fall most of the time. Although I do just about enough highway driving to have my lieometer settle in around 15.5 if I don't reset it for long periods.
....My truck is also mostly stock overall, and 3.73 rears. that info used to be in my sig but back along I tried updating some things and when I tried saving it it wiped everything but what you see out? go figure.

Reason: more info
Yesahand calc and corrected for tire diameter. I don't have a lie o meter on my truck. So I take my odometer reading and correct it for the tires which I figured is 8% via GPS. So I guess I'm doing okay then. We will see what the hwy says about it soon, just haven't really gone any big trips yet.
