I have a 91 Ford chassis under my motorhome the speed sensor went bad and I had it replaced. 250 miles later it went bad again this time the trans will shift through all the gears except into OD. It has a 460 engine and a E40D trans. Could a binding speedo cable cause this problem, I hear a clicking at the speedometer that is the reason I'm wondering if the cable might be binding a little.

Steve83 thanks for the reply. When I pulled the speed sensor the
plastic gear on the end has been chewed up some what. The gear that you are talking about is the one inside the tranny if I'm reading you right? Or is it the one in the speedo it self? Do you know if I can get just the gears or do I have to get a whole new sensor? Thanks again.
