I almost did not order them until I saw a set on a truck that had just come off the delivery truck. I checked it out and realized how awesome they were so I added them to my order at the last minute. Absolutely order them, you will love them!
Gascan: Did you order them from the dealer or are they available from another source? Just trying to dry off the rear window after washing my 250 requires ninja skills without extensions. Any info you can give would be great.
When I ordered by truck I ordered them by mistake. Went over the build many times and don't know how it got past me. Tailgate step was not ordered either. My dealer did not have any trucks so I went to the city and test drove one. I looked at that rear bumper and said there is no way I can get my foot on top the corner of that bumper to jump in when the tail gate is down. I had the step on my work truck and did not like the old design step because I sat on the tail gate or worked on top it often. The next day I hurried and called my dealer to see if I could add the step and caught that in time. When the truck came in I noticed the extended floor board and said to myself I don't want that. Well I'm 6'2" and I cannot touch or pick up anything short inside the bed from standing outside. I never had that problem before and remember these trucks are taller than before. That extended floorboard comes in very handy and I am now glade that I messed that up on my order. I would get it again.
If anyone has Extended Chrome Running Boards on a CCSB I would like to hear your opinion of these.
I specifically ordered this option and stayed away from the King Ranch version or the auto deploying running boards just so I would have the extended running boards to easily get into the back of the truck from the side, with the aid of the always present, extended running board.
They are invaluable when loading the back of the truck with a 5th wheel or other gear that requires access from the side. Get them!!!
I have a new set I'm taking off my truck if anybody is interested. In Arizona.
This is how I got mine. Found a local guy on CL. Very easy sway, now if my old chrome steps sell for what I want I'll be even on the cost of the steps.
