I plan to take the truck out again this weekend for a trip to home depot. This will get me on the highway for a few miles. So far, post suspension rebuild and alignment, the truck seems to handle much better than I am used to.
Judging from the responses so far, it does not sound like my alignment is off by a drastic amount. Correct me if I am wrong?
I drive the truck less than 1000 miles a year, so a little bit of extra wear on the tires should not be that bad. It seems to feel fine, which is probably what matters most.
And yes, it's a 1978 F100 2wd with the 300 inline 6.
There are offset camber bushings for twin "I" beams. You drill out the hole for the spring bolt and put them in and then turn to adjust. I have some on the wall but can't get too it right now to get the number/brand.
Personally, as long as it feels okay and doesn't pull to one side, I wouldn't worry about it.
I think that this is going to be my approach for now. Going to focus on getting the truck running better and fixing a few outstanding issues, then circle back to the suspension if the new tires are taking a beating. Then my course of action would be the offset camber bushing -- I was just looking at how they work on google.
