Have several directly Ford Truck related albums here on site & yesterday was uploading pics of a balancer separating from its hub to one titled "Technical" when I hit "save", I got a FTE site error, telling me to try again later.
When I "backed out" to "Scndsin's Albums" (Thumbnails of each folders) Technical album was gone & I had most certainly not entered a "delete" album command or gone anywhere near a button to do so.
So the questions are, is there a limit of pics in the album feature & have I reached it? I figure its gone forever unless I recreate it. (pain in ***) Do I need to eliminate another less useful album to decrease the # of pics so I can use them for others?
I went back to several posts that utilize pics from this album & they are still there in the posts. (which is good since they are "help" pics)
Page opened to the page with upload or drag & drop options.
Clicked "upload" button.
Which opened my most recent pictures window, whereupon I got to the folder holding pictures that I had previously reduced to 1024 X 768 pixels (what i reduce everything I post here too, keeps me under the required file size). I highlighted the 2 I wanted to use & clicked "open".
2 squares appeared as usual & "filled" normally & when I hit the save button, a new FTE page opened with an unfamiliar error message that I did not dwell on, I just hit my browser back button which took me back to my album home page.
When I scanned through the album thumbnails, I noticed "Technical" was gone. I closed out my open FTE tab, came back, opened it again, still gone. Reboot PC, open, still gone. Try different browser, still gone.
Leave it to me to come up with the off-the-wall... "stuff"
Been that kind of a week or two.
Wish I had paid more attention to the error message, sorry.
I'll recreate it & just upload to an expendable album for a while, then move pics from one to another. If it happens again, I'll bump this.
Thanks for the attention & effort.
The gallery team haven't been able to replicate it exactly, but may have found a specific case in which if your session had timed out before you saved the album, it could cause the album deletion. They're still investigating as to why this is the case.
