I am working through a wiring harness that was started 15 years ago but never completed all of my lights are now working except my parking lights. They work, front and back when the parking lights are turned on but go off when the headlights are turned on. please help!

That is how the headlight switch is wired. I assume your taillights still work when the headlights are on?

That's how they worked, I think

I think that's correct - I remember that you had either headlights or parking lights, but not both, prior to sometime in the 70's.

I think Number Dummy said the DOT regs made it standard in1969.

They worked the same way on my Falcon. I figured out which wire on the switch went to the parking lights in the front and attached it to the terminal for the taillights. Now they function like a more modern vehicle and stay on with the headlights. It's easy to do if that's what you're after.

Timely information, thanks. I'm presently getting prepared to wire up and had been wondering about how that worked.

When I wired my truck, I put a new headlight switch in. It gave me the option of having Tail lights on with head lights or not. I chose to have them on with head lights.
