trailer light eletrical problem

My trailer light come on as soon as I plug in the trailer. I verified the prong is correct. Is there a relay for the trailer light that may be stuck on????

I wish I were more help. But yes there is a relay in the box under the hood. Move all the relays down one and put the bottom one in the top...

I posted last nigh not sure what happened to it. It was the tail lights and clearance lights. It turned out the relay I had was an always on or off. It had a switch on it. I put on a regular relay and everything works fine.

its always where you left it, but where you left it isn't where you think you left it

I spent 3 hours looking for my keys, they were in the top of my tight fitting pants pocket. I only felt the bottom of it. I tuned the house upside down looking for them. Only once when I gave up and reached for my lighter did I finally find them. Lucky my boss at the new job found it funny and didn't mind me coming in late.

mine is doing the same thing. I plug the light in w/ 2 different adapters I have.. and all the lights just power on. Brake lights and blinkers.

and Knottyrope, you sound like me. I rolled up in the hood to buy a 69 Buick Electra in my Ford Escort.. dude's friends had all kinds of jokes. Then the guys mom came home and I had to move my car.. left the keys under my hood.

And like a true space cadet, jumped the trailer with the car the next day.

I'm thinking mine is a ground issue. I'm going to remove my bumper and my rusted to death hitch/salter hookup to clean up and re-bolt. Hoping it'll get fixed when I clean that area up.

Make sure your plug is wired right 89scott. Whoever wired mine flipped the reverse pin and the main power so when I hook up to someone elses trailer some weird stuff happens.
