Front fenders on 1948 f1 vs f2
Please bear with me, I am new here, and really know nothing about any of this. My dad is restoring a 1948 ford truck for me. The cab and front end came from an f2 and the bed with rear fenders I got is from an f1. I know the front fender openings of the f2 are very noticeably larger than the f1. I would prefer to not have fiberglass, which are the only replacements I am finding. My question is, is the entire fender different, or does the curve of the lower account for the the size difference? I know I can get steel lowers for an f1 and was wondering if those could be used with the f2 uppers (possibly with some modification), or if the curve difference is the entire way around the opening making these unusable.
If anyone has any other suggestions for making this work some other way, I would love to hear them. If I need to get fiberglass, I will, but would rather not, and these originals are in such good shape, I would hate to not be able to use them.
I guess I should also ask, is the actual fender size the same and just the opening is different? That's what I was gathering from everything I have read, but couldn't find any actual measurements for them to know for sure.
Thanks for any tips!

The fender opening is the only difference. If you git the f1 lowers, you would have to modify the f2 uppers to match the new lower radius. It would probably be more trouble than its worth. Re production steel uppers are supposedly coming out soon, but they have been saying that for a couple years.

There really is not much difference. IMHO I would restore it the way it is and later maybe replace the front fenders with F1s if you can find them. The other option would be to modify the openings to look like F1s. You could use someones F1 to trace and make a template.

Welcome!
It appears that you both have F2 trucks. There are dimensional differences with the frames that you'll need to be mindful of should you use the F1 bed. For the sheetmetal, this interchange guide from BobJ may be helpful: Body Part Interchange Guide

Before buying the F-1 bottoms and trying to make the upper F-2 fender match I'd work with what you have. Trying match the new to old could be difficult. If you worked the pieces you have you could make them match. They'd probably never match up to stock F-1 parts but no one would know. There was a web site of of a custom shop who did the modification. I don't think it up anymore but he used a small diameter tube to form the opening and filled the gap with sheet metal.
I've seen a couple of F-1s with altered larger fenders and they looked pretty good and would have never known they had the larger fenders if I wasn't told.
