brakes squeaking

brakes squeaking
got a 1996 f 350 powerstroke dually. last night my brakes started squeaking the more that i used them. is this a sign that they are glazed over? if so how do i fix the problem? what does anybody think about a exhaust brake, good, bad, indifferent? what are some of the better brands of exhaust brakes out there as i am new to the diesel market. thanks for the help
