I'm looking to pull the trigger on a mini OBD 11 Bluetooth adapter and I wanted your blessings. Some of the adapters looked longer and the last thing I want to do is bust my knee on it jumping in and out, and the mini looks to fit the bill. I plan to get the new SCT that will come out next year and do not want to spend money on a older version, but I need to get a idea where my vitals stand.
It needs to do Blue Tooth and be ELM 327 and that's about the size of mine. If it does WiFi, then you could also do ForScan.
About everything I find ships from China and I've heard to stay away from that. The adapter I post did not specify if it is ELM327. Could you post a picture for yours and I'll order one like yours? I'm worried about buying crap.
Here is the one I run for Torque Pro

and a second one that's wired for my Forscan software on the laptop

I think they're all from China... just don't load the software that comes with it, it's full of spyware. Sort the pile to show "distance, nearest first", that may show you one shipped from the USA
hwybee22, the vpeak you show is the one I have. It does Bluetooth and wireless. I use it on my Windows 7 laptop,my iPhone 6s and my iPad Pro. Haven't tried it on android but I'm sure it would work. Lag time is zero as far as I can tell. Took me 4 days to get it off Amazon. There are plenty out there that work. This one just seemed well rounded for all operating systems.
I'm currently using one of those small OBD-Bluetooth adapters. It's another el-cheapo from China and work just like it should. It's the small model that you got pictures of. You can get them black or translucent blue. They're all pretty much the same the small ones. Different labels or print on the plastic. The run with Torque Pro or with some PC software just fine.
I got mine from eBay and it cost like $10, shipped. Actually it's the second one I have, as the first one was one of the very early Bluetooth-adapters that had cable and a huge dongle at the other end. Always some issues. This small "new" one I got few years ago and it's just plug&play.
ditto don't install any software that comes with it, you only want the hardware

if you found one shipping from Jersey, it'll come out of a container from China and cost more.
As far a hitting your knee is concerned, you can unscrew the OBDII port and turn it around 180*. That's what I did for my ScangageII since it is hard-wired so the cable didn't turn out towards my knee.
You've likely pulled the trigger on one, but besides the good advice already given: I try to buy from a seller with excellent feedback rating and has been around awhile, and SHIPS from the USA. That way you'll get it quicker and if you get one that is bad, they will likely just ship you another on out pronto (that is what happened to me).
I just got the BAFX one from Amazon the other day, I think it was around $30. I had one of the translucent blue ones I got off of Ebay for about $3, but it wouldn't stay connected and when it did work, it wasn't transmitting all of the data. The BAFX is one of the long ones, but I haven't had any problems with it being in the way. I finally am able to get all of my data. I'm still playing around with TorquePro, learning how it all works.

I have the clone of this one.
Do you have any problems with having to reset it after a drive cycle? Aka - It will work for one engine start - and then when I restart the truck, no longer work.
I have to pull it out, wait 10 seconds, and pop it back in again for it to start transmitting to torque pro.
