single 3" exhust good enough?
i have a 77 f150 4x4 with a 400M, the engine was just rebuilt with cam, roller rockers, mild porting, 400 intake, holley 750 carb, and hooker headers. my question is do you think the headers run into a Y-pipe with a 3" single exhust will be enough flow for this engine? i am running a straight through magniflow muffer with it. i would like to have a bigger pipe but all the shops around here say 3" is the biggest they have. i am going with single because of fitment and clean look, they also think 3" will flow enough, one guy said that 2.5 would flow enough! what do you guys think?

A single 3" pipe supports about 375rwhp (close to 450flywheel) so I think you shall be more than fine.
What size cam are you running? What heads?
Those Hookers probably have 1-5/8 primaries. Just run 2.5" piping from the collectors to a y-pipe to a 3" exhaust from there.
