It took me two days to realise I had one too...
I guess I just didn't believe it. Sheeesh - a summertime cold at that. I've heard of 'em, but never expected it ta happen.
Runny nose and all that garbage, and its over eighty degrees outside.
i seem to get summertime colds alot too- i think its got something to do with my room being in the basement, sleeping with the window open, or on the weekends partying and just sleeping where ever i can so that i dont drive. usually if i just crash on someones couch i dont always get a blanket.
i have a cough right now, but without the stuffy nose thankfully

Exactly! I'm just getting over mine and I've had mine since last Wednesday. I just got back from a camping trip and I think that mighta helped some too.
I HATE colds also...I am just on the verve of getting over one. I'm not one to get sick often, but when I do get sick I get sick and feel like . As quoted by theologian, I am not nice when I'm sniffling.
Theo, what all do you take to keep it at bay? I started taking vitamin packs when I felt it coming on (Has Vit. C, E; Folic Acid; Chromium Picolinate; Selenium; and alpha Lipoic acid)
I increase my garlic intake, keep away from simple carbs, increase Vitamin C and B complex, and find some echinacea root. That way I usually manage to keep reasonably human. Most of the problem with a cold is not the bacteria that cause it, but the reaction to that bacteria we create within ourselves. By beefing up the immune defenses with vitamins, and making sure we have the right balance of minerals in our systems, we can limit the reaction to infection. That way we get the bacteria, and just quietly kill it, without having a histamine reaction. You feel better, recover faster, and never get bothered by that particular bacteria again.. The down side is that there are about 10 million bacteria that are classified as 'colds'.
