I hate to be a debbie downer, but I have to reiterate what I said earlier. For the SWITCHBLADE key for the 2016 F-150, when my unprogrammed cut key was used to unlock the door, the alarm went off. When the unprogrammed key was used to start the vehicle, the vehicle did not start and the alarm went off.
The switchblade keyheads work differently than the fobs for pushbutton start. I don't want to be getting in anybody's business, a guy should be able to do what he wants when he wants. If you can find someone to cut you a plain key without a keyhead, it's cheap enough to find out for yourself, but I think you'll be shopping for an unprogrammed ITK keyhead soon thereafter.
I'll be happy to be wrong though, as it will save me $100 on my next key.

Thanks benwalt, ill try and see what i can get from my locksmith, if you click on the link, this key will do everything except remotely lock/unlock the doors, it will start the truck. LINK Its a strattec key so do a search for a local retailer to you.
Thanks to everyone for your replies

So it looks like that's still a chipped key, and you'd have to program it with your two existing keys the same as an ITK keyhead, but that's a piece of cake.
Please do let us know how it works. For that price, I'd buy an extra key in a heartbeat. I don't really care if my spares have remote capability, in fact given that they're just spares, I kinda prefer they don't.
I just haven't seen the key that you linked to for the 2016s before or I certainly would have tried it. It actually looks similar to the chipped keys that came with my old 2002 F-150 (no power windows/locks on that one, so no remote). I had to do the two key programing with that one as well after it was cut, but again, much cheaper than an integrated keyhead.
I called around this past friday and got nowhere, one locksmith said he would cut a key for $55 but he does not and will not order me one because he'd have to order $300-400 worth, not viable for him, the rest all said no. So it looks like ordering from an online source is the best bet, ill see what the local dealers say in the morning regarding the cut, also gonna try the ace hardware but its ways a way.
If you have a chipped key and an ignition key slot you must have a chipped key to start it. the fob only locks and unlocks the door. It has nothing to do with the vehicle starting or running.
My Truck is a push button start I must have the fob to start it.

TJReams, damn, i must be thick or i just plain dont know, my fob has 3 buttons only and a key that flips out, does it have a chip? I have no idea, how would or could i tell, i do know i to have to start the truck with the key, no auto start in my truck, does my fob have or send some kind of signal to the truck similar to the autostarts, i have no idea, no big deal, ill get the one i guess above, if i only need just a plain key, thats cheaper again. I just gotta get some time to find a cutter somewhere close to me.
p.s TJReams, dude, you have an awesome **** handle, classic
Was at the dealer today, while waiting for some service work i ran this part # 164-R8128 by the parts dept, its a basic key, for the work model or xl plain jane trucks, it is chipped and can be had from the dealer for approx $90. It will allow for entry into the vehicle and will start the vehicle and will need to be programmed. He did not call the supplier as this is something they go aftermarket for to confirm price but he said that it should be in that ball park. The key will be cut and programmed for that price, only requires the vin to do the job. The aftermarket key i posted in an earlier thread will do the same thing but a heck of alot cheaper, pardon if this is not correct but the ford # above is a rotundo or rotunda key. You'll just have to find a cutter after purchasing the aftermarket/oem supplier key.
