I know there has been alot of discussion about the 6 v to 12 v conversion. I talked to a guy a while back about it and he said that he took his starter out of his 48 and had it wired for 12 volt? Am I understanding this correctly? Where is one able to get this done?
Thanks!
There are motor repair places will do the rewire for you. They need to replace the four field coils and probably the armature coils. The work is very similar on all motors that have brushes, so the age of the motor is usually not a problem. Try calling a few places in your area:

Hey, thanks a million Earl, for taking time to help me on this. I wasn't sure if I go to an electric motor place or a starter place. I will call some of them this week and check on it. Thanks again!
