07 Mountaineer transmission lines....I'm losing it!
OK, replacing the radiator in my 07 Mountaineer. Watched the U-tube video and purchased the sprecta model recommended. Instead to messing with the release on the lines I opted to remove the nut from the radiator. Easy enough, everything going well until I find that the new fittings on the Spectra are a different size. Now I have to remove the lines from the old connect. Bought the Lisle 39660 tool for Ford lines. Dam, I've been fighting with them most of the afternoon. I cannot get them off, tool slides in all the way, won't budge. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to get them off, I don't give up easy....but, all my knuckles are banged up. Thanks

I've had plenty of frustration with this type of fitting before as well since they use the same basic mechanical method for fuel lines, A/C lines, and various other fluid lines.
Some times I found I just was not pushing the release tool in far enough (either the wrong size, or forgot to eat my morning Wheaties). Other times, and was more often the case, I found that pushing the fittings together while inserting the tool, or even better, rotating the fittings, would allow the fittings to disconnect MUCH more easily. I suspect that the o-rings basically glue themselves to the line and the pushing/twisting motion helps break that o-ring stick.
