I have one, I pulled out of a truck. Not sure if it was an F-100 or 250, but it's a C-6. I ended up with two, and had this one left over if anyone is looking for such!

I'm just curious where the "give" would be with the transmission having a fixed yoke. Driveshaft length changes with suspension movement and frame flex. Even a few thousandths of an inch difference would put a lot of pressure on the tail shaft or carrier bearing or rear end or whatever the driveshaft is connected to. Sure, the engine/tranny mounts are rubber, and flex a little bit. But that can't be what the engineers were relying on

I always, thought they were originally used with the divorced transfer cases.

...thinking back....I'm pretty sure that came from a long bed. The slip joint is between the front section of driveshaft and the rear section.

HD...I am in Bakersfield, Central California. Price open to negotiations, suggestions. I think I paid about $250.00 for it when I pulled it...and I did all the labor.

….rarely make that Vegas drive and really not headed that way in the foreseeable future. I would like to get most of my money back...so $200.00 should be fair. This one has the truck shifter linkage since it came out of a truck. That being said, it probably should be rebuilt and/or inspected as I don't know the history of this transmission.

HD....sent you a private message with my contact information. Give me a call, or email so we can find a date that's convenient. Also, I assume that this transmission is replacing the same?? Or, are you installing the c-6 for the first time? The reason that I ask, is that I may have some other parts such as kickdown rod and cooler lines that came with this transmission which might be useful. Let me know what else you might need so that I can look for the parts.
Eric.

HD....sorry you're having trouble navigating....no worries. Just email me at ehershkowitz@hotmail.com. Be sure and put Ford C6 in the message, as it will go into my junk mail....which loads up unbelievably quick these days.

Gear vendor and fixed yoke C6

Came across this thread I have one of these in my 69 F250 CS I bought a gear vendor finally it wasn't cheap took awile to pull the trigger now I have a problem , the GV has a 14" tail adapter I have the short 7" tail section with fixed yoke C6 it's a LB .
now my options are since I heard this can't be done installed in truck do to a C Clip holding in the output shaft take trans out , take down to trans shop swap output shaft to 14" use current GV kit .
Shop wants 300 to do labor I need to remove my trans I have headers etc it's going to be a big job ,
option 2 use the GV shorty kit that has a 2 piece tail section just like the shorty fixed yoke they say at GV that if you remove the nut and tail section the out put shaft will come out ? The shorty kit comes with a short output shaft and they say it will slide back in now end of output shaft slides into gear vendor instead of coupler to join them .
?????? With the shorty fixed yoke C6 will that output shaft come out with out the C Clip inside bieng affected or is there one ? GV says they have done it and I don't need to remove trans I'm not so sure .
