I have a 77 f150 that is basically my daily driver. Overall its in pretty nice shape but the cab corners and rocker panels really need to be replaced. I am fairly good with a welder and have looked at replacements from LMC truck, but I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions on where to get them from and how to install them.
I replaced both on my "79 a couple months ago. I got them from NPD and they fit pretty horrible. Poor stampings. I made them work since it's only a work truck, but for a restoration I would look elsewhere. No idea if LMC parts are the same or better.
It's fairly simple to replace the outer skins, drill out the spot welds around the perimeter and cut the top above the rust in clean metal. However, the inner pieces may be rusted as well and those pieces are not reproduced to my knowledge. You may need to make some patches for those areas...
