5.8 oil filter relocation

Has anyone used an oil filter relocation kit for their 5.8? If so, which one did you use and what issues did you have to overcome? I'm asking as I note in the reviews on Summit's site that quality seems to be lacking along with several people stating some parts were not included when they received their kit. I want to install one on my truck and would like to get a reasonable quality, complete kit.

Thank you in advance.

I have used a trans-dapt dual remote filter in the past after removing the oil cooler set up. (Its out right now till other things are finalized) It was complete But I took a Dremel to a few of the adaptor passages.

There are pictures in this album:

Thanks Scndsin. I saw the Trans-Dapt filter relocation kits on Summit. They had several different makes there and all of the reviews were mixed. Yours looked pretty good in your picture.

The angles of the hoses were a little severe so I added the angled fittings (after grinding them down in order to screw then into the adapter, side by side) that kept them from kinking. Eventually I'll go back with some crimp style hoses & AN fittings to shorten the routing.

I have never done one on a F series truck so can't help you there but when we put a 302 into my son's 85 Ranger we used the L&L products stuff. We didn't buy a whole kit we just used the piece that goes on block where oil filter is now and the piece that the oil filter will go on. I mounted both pieces where I wanted then went to my local John Deere dealer and had some hoses made up. They are overkill but they don't leak/seep any oil and hold up to 3500psi so I figure I'm good there......L&L stuff is pricey but it is top quality stuff, you will be well pleased with how it is made. It's been a while since I did Ranger but I believe the web site to be www.landlproducts.com

Plowboy34, I think I am going to go a similar route. I'll get the oil filter adapter unit and the new filter mounting unit and then have the hoses made by a hose shop. That way I can use quality nipples and hoses and they'll be the right length to.
