Bad CV joint?

Bad CV joint?

I get a rattle in the left front wheel, sounds like metal with a muffled ring to it, when it started, I could get it to stop by flipping it to 4 HI and it would stop. Now that doesnt help & does it all the time now. I strongly suspect it's the CV joint I have inspected the brakes and the dust cover and they are OK, the CV boot looks good too, no leaks or
seepage.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Bad CV joint?

It could be a CV joint, it possibly could be the axle seals. Thats a possibility.

Bad CV joint?

Well, now it is making one heck of a noise,and it seems to go into a bind when I turn, I popped the wheel and noticed a little slop
in the wheel before I pulled the lugnuts, kinda like in the bearing.
I got my family mechanic coming over to look tonight and see what it is . Thanks again!

Bad CV joint?

Hey! I found out that it was the front wheel bearing,about an hour and a half and $220 later it is fixed, boy it was wasted too,
good thing I was close to home when it happened !
