HELP! T170 & 3.03 pros and cons

Hello y'all.

I have an 85' F150 with a 300 Inline 6 Y block with a T170FT behind it, I'm not too fond of the over drive, I found a 3.03 trans that's been rebuilt, 3 speed manual. What are the pros and cons to switching to a 3.03, and what would be required physically to make the swap.

sorry if this was somewhat vague.

Despite that, trying to mix topics is discouraged; this thread is about asking for a VIN decode and you got your answer.

Asking about a transmission is an entirely different topic that has nothing to do with this thread's title.
