Buying truck with previous hpfp failure

Hey guys. I'm looking on some input, i will be purchasing a 2012 f350 xlt dually 6.7 so my question is, i saw the truck it has 112,000 miles on it just the way I want one and come to find out it had a hpfp failure do to water contamination at 27,000 miles and was repaired by ford
The owner since then says he changes oil and fuel filters every 5,000 miles
I'm looking for an honest answer if it would be smart to stay away from it or a good deal to get it his price was 28,000 and has had his add on craigslist for 2 months
I got his price to drop to 24,500 he promises there is nothing wrong with the truck it looks very well taken care of.

If Ford did the repair and he has maintance records then it would be fine.

When there is a water contamination and the HPFP goes south, injectors, fuel lines, new filters and a flushing of the tank are required.

Self repair, who knows.

See what he has for paperwork.

He has all the ford records on the work. he had to pay 15gs out of pocket that later was covered by his insurance. I Figuered it would be ok since ford did the work just wanted some extra input
I really appreciate your reply

Sounds like a standard fix. Verify he is using oem fuel and oil filters. Watch your fuel source and drain the separator monthly and I change filters at 15K with 5K oil changes.
