Bad Fuel
My water in fuel light has come on at least 10 times in the last week and a half. Each time when I drain it I get water and some sandy clay junk out of it. Does anyone use a strainer,filter,Mr Funnel, or anything simular when filling up? I only get fuel from Chevron and Texaco stations, there are 4 in my area.(No I cant try another brand-company card) I cant fault the water seperator its doing what it is supposed too, and I think I will change my filters just to see how they are. but dang, filters aint cheap. Last change was less than 5000 miles ago.

Filters are way cheaper than new injection pumps & injectors. The filters are doing what they are in there for. Just buy clean fuel from a reliable dealer. If the truck is there filling the tanks up go to your second choice as the incoming fuel stir all the sediment up from the bottom, they should have filters on the pumps also.
