I have a 96 F350 with 7.3 turbo diesel at work. She has brake problems and body rot. The rad support is rotted out at the body mounts. Is the rad support the same for gas engines and Broncos, or is it different? What years would work?
The brake problems are they barely work, even with the rears adjusted properly. I have replaced some lines, others were replaced by others. Someone, for whatever reason not known to us, replaced the master cylinder and booster. The abs light is always on.
Gas and diesel radiator supports ARE NOT the same. If it's only rotted out where it meets the body mounts, if i were you, i'd pull it out and fix your current one. That is if you're handy with a welder.
A clean rust/rot free radiator support goes for $800 all day long and people still have to hurry to that deal because everyone needs one.
What exactly do you mean by "barely work"? These trucks only have rear ABS. Even without ABS your brakes should still work with normal stopping power - just no ABS.
There is a company that makes the lower hoop (that's the main difference between the gas and diesel)... I bought a gas, bought the hoop, and with the help of a friend welded them together...I was still in to it over $425
