Unhappy Brake Problems

When I put on my brakes the peddel stops my truck but then the truck will start moving anyway. I can let off the brakes and reapply pressure and that MIGHT stop the truck or not. The brakes are soft but do not go to the floor. If I have to stop in a hurry I am in BIG trouble. The peddle will not stop me unless I hit it several times. This started out only when the truck was cold but now it happens all the time. I have had it in the shop but they can't seem to figure it out either. I have had the brakes replaced, bleed, new master cylinder, and everything else. Even got a new ABS pump (what ever that is) but nothing is working. PLEASE HELP ME!

In detail what is 'everything else'? Do you have 4WABS [ABS sensors on all 4 wheels]? The pushrod may need to be adjusted to the new master cylider. I really think you should go to another shop and have a second opinion.

The mechanic did put a new master cylinder on the truck. He said that was the problem but it wasn't. When I took my truck back to him for the third time, he said it was the ABS system and that he could not locate a new ABS module but did get a new ABS pump. I think he is full of it.

i would try to get your money back or some type of compensation. unless the new master cylinder is bad too. Do you have to refill the brake fluid ever- as in you have a leak somewhere? Something ABS related should not necessarily be related to regular braking, usually with an ABS failure the ABS light and/or the BRAKE (red) light will illuminate. One indicates an electrical problem, the other a mechanical problem, i just cant remember which is which.
