Todd, this is not meant to imply anything against you or the fellows doing their best in the plant. But something is rotten in the handling of customer orders.
I agree that Ford may have nothing to do with logistics, but they should. They have nothing to do with the wire looms, but they should. They have nothing to do with the cameras, but they should, and on and on down the list. I worked as a project manager in construction and then a metal fab shop and there was no excuse for untimely operations.
Ford does have everything to do with the build schedule. Ford chooses to build the last trucks ordered first and then hide behind running out of parts from their contractors. AK_superduty and I are among many who placed orders for a sight unseen vehicle back in April when the order banks first opened. No specifics on capacity but every faith that the FoMoCo would build our trucks in a timely fashion. Hell, people ordering in September are getting their trucks while some of us are crapped upon by the schedulers. And the excuse? We have no control over the suppliers and delays are bound to happen. Bullcrap.
I finally got a preliminary delivery date of 12/19. I actually have a VIN, so it's starting to feel sorta real. It's been quite the saga for sure.

Amazing how the new order is probably taking priority over your original order. Well at least you should have an early Christmas! Congrats on the progress.
Hmphhhhh ordered 6 months later and a delivery promise of 15 days later. Hmphhhhh.
I talked to my Dealer yesterday and he says it is to be delivered this week. Finally figured out which Distribution Yard my truck is at, drove by there this morning and there it is backed up against the fence along the street. Wish I could have got pictures, but surveillance cameras everywhere and I didn't want to look too suspicious. Hopefully they load it up and get it over there today. Best case scenario is Saturday pickup. worst case is next week.

As far as shipping, once that vehicle crosses the lot its out of our hands. Its been like that even before I started working here. My last new vehicle, 2010 Explorer, built here in Louisville, took over 3 weeks to make it to my local dealer just 8 miles down the road.

I bet you guys get slammed all the time for long delivery times.
I went all the way to 1 American Drive, Dearborn, MI with my complaint. Essentially got the same excuses from the top which tells me they run down hill. I turned over all of my emails. Ford had the order from shortly after submitted. The rep appealed to them on at least 3 occasions and got the same excuses (I have the copies of the emails and replies.) If they are not honest with the reps, how can anyone expect them to be honest with the customers. Just 'sayin'. Re-order has been an option but I always felt tomorrow would bring the correct resolve. Fooled me once, twice, three times, four times, well you get the picture. Shame on me.
So what are you going to do? Re-order? Out right cancel?

I honestly don't know how the convoy people sequence them for shipping but they get them in order somehow. Everything going from Canada, Mexico, and all over the US.

At this point re-order would make no sense but is mighty tempting. Cancel would mean either take a 2016 or some other brand. Already have too many accessories ordered/on premises to change. Just sit, wait and watch.
Do any of the members on here have access to check on vehicle tracking? My contact at the dealer is out this week and Ford chat indicates my truck is in transit but can't provide a rail car number for tracking.
