Hell, mine finally arrived out here in Spokane after almost 2 weeks on the rail. it still hasn't left the Auto Dealer Distribution Center, its been there since Friday. The issues aren't just at KTP
Once the trucks leave the KTP lot for shipping, even if they sit on the convoy lot, its out of Fords hands.
There are a few different "mixing" lots where vehicles are dropped and await the proper transportation to the final destination. Vehicles can sit for awhile on these lots before they are loaded.
I know of 2 lots here in Louisville that are always packed full of everything from Toyota's to Kia's to Super Duty's.
The mixing lots are always super busy.
My truck has been sitting in Kentucky for the 6th day now after release to transit.........fun fun! Wish Ford would let us pick them up at KTP-I would be there!

Ford could charge for picking it up and I'm sure we would still form a line trying to pick our trucks up.

Even us grunts that work at KTP and LAP have to wait for dealer delivery.
Sometimes longer than others, just depends on scheduling of transportation.

Man I would too! 35,000 Skymiles to Louisville and who knows for transport to KTP. What an awesome way to break in the truck. Road Trip baby!
Ford has nothing to do with logistics.
They contract that work out. Once the vehicles are cleared for shipping, its out of Fords hands when they go to the convoy lot.
Ford has EVERYTHING to do with logistics-they charge you that nifty $1195 for shipping & make $ on that end too! Why do you think they ship by rail when ever possible-it's cheaper for them. $1195 is not an avg of what it costs them so they pass that on to us the consumer.......NOOOO that's not how it works. We will never know that # but you can bet the farm it's considerably less than the 1195 you pay. Business as usual but don't think for a minute that FoMoCo has no control over shipping their own products.

Todd, this is not meant to imply anything against you or the fellows doing their best in the plant. But something is rotten in the handling of customer orders.
I agree that Ford may have nothing to do with logistics, but they should. They have nothing to do with the wire looms, but they should. They have nothing to do with the cameras, but they should, and on and on down the list. I worked as a project manager in construction and then a metal fab shop and there was no excuse for untimely operations.
Ford does have everything to do with the build schedule. Ford chooses to build the last trucks ordered first and then hide behind running out of parts from their contractors. AK_superduty and I are among many who placed orders for a sight unseen vehicle back in April when the order banks first opened. No specifics on capacity but every faith that the FoMoCo would build our trucks in a timely fashion. Hell, people ordering in September are getting their trucks while some of us are crapped upon by the schedulers. And the excuse? We have no control over the suppliers and delays are bound to happen. Bullcrap.

I agree with everything you said and I am going to say it again, Ford needs a lesson in logistics! Logistics has everything to do with first in first out period!

May have nothing to do with it but I wonder just how much the dealer plays in this roll? Is it Ford or the dealer holding these long awaited orders? Several have said they switched dealers and got a VERY different outcome. I think some dealers have their own way of trying to manipulate the system and it backfires sometimes. I noticed a few have had to cancel and re-order. Then dealers in turn give some BS excuse about whatever to try to calm you down. I don't buy the parts shortages excuse when other trucks have been kept on schedule even bumped forward a couple days while yours gets delayed. Your truck doesn't need anything thats not being placed on another truck every single day at FoMoCo. Not trying to pi$$ you off anymore than Im sure you already are but someone is blowing smoke up your skirt on the parts shortages. They may have a shortage of one item or another but it can't be for very long because these trucks are moving forward by the thousands every week. My VIN is 76553 and was built 10/12, I would imagine they are int the 80's by now. You guys who ordered before they ever started production should be all driving your trucks right now not being fed BS excuses. Not sure where a guy would turn to complain but I think I would start with visiting another dealer and putting in an order that you may actually get. Maybe Im wrong on all this but I sure get the feeling some dealers are NOT very honest with their customers, especially on these ordered trucks where the dealer has you by the nuts. I wish you the best of luck with it.

I went all the way to 1 American Drive, Dearborn, MI with my complaint. Essentially got the same excuses from the top which tells me they run down hill. I turned over all of my emails. Ford had the order from shortly after submitted. The rep appealed to them on at least 3 occasions and got the same excuses (I have the copies of the emails and replies.) If they are not honest with the reps, how can anyone expect them to be honest with the customers. Just 'sayin'. Re-order has been an option but I always felt tomorrow would bring the correct resolve. Fooled me once, twice, three times, four times, well you get the picture. Shame on me.
