Beat me to it. I was checking the air filter the other day, and I noticed that very thing. Cold air (on my 3.5L EB) comes in from the front of the truck. Probably more valuable to improve the exhaust.

Same with the 2016 5.0. Scoop to the front that gets air at the gap just under the hood..

3.5 ecoboost has the opening at the front of the hood but is also sealed. CAI may help slightly when you're already moving but if you're going slow or stopped the hat will build up,under the hood.
