It's probably not too far off. I just purchased a 95 F150 regular cab, 5.0L engine for $4,700. AC is not working, electric window needs repair, a few other minor things to repair/replace

was the valve issue not fixed with the installation of new heads? I know you had a thread following this issue but I don't remember if there was a resolution.
Might be a steal to the right person, but not to me. To me, it is alot for a truck that still needs a fair amount of tlc and has body damage, ever worse if the engine still needs to be repaired.

That's the deal killer right there.
The work hasn't been done yet. My mechanic friend has been very busy.
As a "mechanic friend" of many, never ever would I ask to be paid up front.
Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see a price in your ad.
You list it as in excellent shape. Maybe it was when you bought it. Not anymore. Badly dented body and stuck valve?
I would not buy this with "I promise I paid a guy to replace the heads, he just hasn't done it yet". I'd buy it as, "I need to rebuild this engine", and I'd offer you a price to reflect that.
If the ignition lock is an easy repair, repair it.
How can you prove ownership, generally you just say "clean title in hand".
no offence intended, but this ad makes you come across as a shyster ...
the "dent" that you mention extends across THREE body panels.
the money that you have laid out adds nothing to the value of the truck until the work is actually done, i.e. BEFORE THE SALE. until that work is done, this is either a parts truck, or a project.
and, as already stated, if it's an "easy fix", then fix it.
you put a sound system in a vehicle that cost about the vehicles worth! holy crap!
you would just give that away with the truck.you need to pull that and sell it without a radio (which probably wont hurt the value by even a penny) or just put a factory/low end $50 radio in it.
you state it's "excellent" on the right.you need to change that to "fair"
with a quarter million miles on it and it's age,im afraid Brad is correct.2k is the outside.2,500 is stretching it pretty hard and it's never going to bring near 2k with engine needing work.
(in response to another thread)
as for a trade.that's an unwise choice.remember your goals.you need the cash back! otherwise you just might as well keep this lol.learn from your missteps or live the same way forever.
Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see a price in your ad.
Yesterday the price was $5500. Today it's $4500.
Still about $1500-2000 too high. It's in nowhere NEAR "excellent" shape, with all the problems. Windshield crack is a structural / safety issue. And putting the ad up now based on work that hasn't been done yet borders on fraud.
How can the truck possibly have two "gas" tanks? (Oh, in the bed, maybe......)
