Im not a shock expert, so this may be a stupid question. If i were to change the factory f250 rear block out with a shorter, maybe 2" block, would i have to get different shocks since they would now be compressed another inch or two at all times, Or would it not affect or hurt them?
You should be fine. In the past generations, lots of guys have gone from 2 to 4 inch and vice versa without issue. I'm still waiting to see what the 2x4 trucks come with.
Thanks. If the 2x4 block size doesnt work out, i wonder if the 2011-2016 blocks would work. I dont know if they redesigned them for 2017 or left them the same.
a 2" from the previous SD would be just right if it would fit. But im also betting that the 17 2x4 are also 2". Just have to wait and see.
Check and see how much distance you have to the bump stop, on mine there was only 2 inches gap when loaded meaning it would have been on the stop if I had but 2" shorter block in.. also sway bar clearance and brake calipers are close...look and measure loaded before taking the block out to lower the truck.

Good to know, thanks. ill have to check that. From what people are saying, the new 250 has about a 3 1/4" block, so a 2" would only be an inch lower. Hopefully that would still leave enough clearance when loaded.
