Archoil 9100 WOW!!!!
Hey guys,
So some of you may remember that I have been having stiction problems, and it turns out it is injector #4. I was trying to see if I could get away without using full synthetic oil, based on some of my other threads, but decided to keep the full syn running through the engine.
This time though, I decided to run a bottle of 16oz Archoil 9100 with the Delo 400 LE 5w-40. I am so shocked at how well the 6oh runs now, cold. Also, it is so much quieter when warmed up too.
There is only a puff of blue smoke at start up, but it does NOT idle with blue smoke anymore. I havent plugged in my block heater for two days now and the temps have been between 45-50 degrees at night.
I am just amazed at this stuff. I am in love with the 6oh again because of how smooth it runs now.
One question though, is it necessary to use the Archoil 9100 at every oil change when you have a stiction problem? Or do it every other oil change? What do you guys do?
Thanks - Preston

Well, back in January or February of this year I used the Delo 400 LE full syn, and I still had the stiction problem. I am believing in this Archoil9100.
Thanks for the response Jack.
That adds alot more money to intervals now, ergh.....

Well, I have put 250 miles on the truck since Saturday. I noticed it the difference on Sunday after putting about 75 miles on the truck Saturday.

This advice is why I had started another thread trying to get all learned up on the oils out there I was thinking I should try the syn blend and this Archoil 9100. Maybe next time, and it will help on the overall cost.

If you go look at some of the older videos I have on Youtube I did some
distance testing with Archoil.
Here are some links.
This should be in increasing miles order. (I hope)
I that the spikes went away after I replaced injectors #7 and #8.
I guess it did not help living 140K miles without the blue spring update.

That a good series Sean. IMO, it shows that Archoil or RevX are band aids for a problem, not an absolute cure. I've said that before. For me, it allowed me to keep an injector in place for a few years until that injector could no longer be helped, and I had to change it out last year.
That injector with non-modified oil would cause a good cold romp, with smoke. You could either let it continue like that for five minutes while the motor warmed up, or goose the throttle up to 2,000 rpm and then it would be fine. But driving away from the house the truck would be sluggish, and at the first or second stop sign would could still get a little romp. For my injectors condition at the time, Archoil corrected all that. Until .......
For those that have no real issues, I think the oil friction modifier may very well provide a smoother idling truck allowing the injector spools to slide smoothly. Now if its worth $40 additional per oil change that's another thing and a personal decision. Since my injector change I have not.
