torch spects

I have to change out the inner seals on my front axle on my 04 f250 6.0 4x4. was wondering what the torch spects are for the bolts on the end caps and the torch spects on the differential cover? I already have the passenger side axle out. was changing my ball joints on that side when I noticed a bunch of oil in the axle case and on the hub knuckle. Also, this might be a long shot but is there any way to change the inner seal on the drivers side without taking out the axle on that side? I have the passenger out and if I could get away without pulling the driver side that would be awesome. I know it's probably a pipe dream but I had to ask.

Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

Jamie

also I posted this to the super duty forum to...

The axle has to come out to remove the carrier to replace the inner axle seals. Here are some common torque values.

Pinion nut...................... .220-280 ft-lb
Ring gear bolts................120-140 ft-lb
Bearing cap bolts.................................120-135 ft-lb
Steel Diff cover bolts......................................30-40 ft-lb
Cast aluminum diff cover bolts.......................................... 24 ft-lb
Wheel lug nuts..........................................120-165 ft-lb
Diff filler plug.............................................1 8 ft-lb

I don't believe you have too loosen the ring gear bolts from the differential though.

No you don't touch the ring gear bolts. You also do not remove the pinion nut either but it would be a good time to if you had a leaky pinion seal and chose to replace it. I just included those torque values for knowledge.

I'm no grammar **** (I'm sure I misspell stuff too) but it's also specs, short for specifications. (No T)

Lol. Yeah looking at it now this post is more like a bait and switch. you come in thinking it's about setting a regulator and find out I'm tearing apart my front axle. Next I'll ask you guys over to see how the work ended up and find me handing you guys moving boxes talking about how it shouldn't take to long if we all pitch in and move the heavy furniture first...
