Has anyone installed these on their Ex? I purchased a set yesterday and hope I can do the install myself. Just looking for any advice/knowledge about the install.
The instruction are pretty straight forward. Just take your time and you be sure to secure the wire loom in the engine compartment so it doesn't hit your exhaust or flap around under the vehicle.
Whats the price on these bad boys. Love the tucked away look
I found them with no shipping for $1200 with a $100 rebate. A little expensive but if I don't do something to make entering and exiting the Ex easier for my wife I'm going to have to start riding in that retched Honda Odesey again

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a write-up when you do the install. I have my set just sitting here waiting on me to install them as well because I'm to afraid to pull the trigger on doing it by myself
I too am anxious to see how this goes. I've been on the fence for years to get the AMP steps. One of my concerns is apparently a hole has to be drilled in the rocker or the pinch weld...and that bothers me. From what I've read, the Bestop versions (which supposedly aren't the same quality as the AMP versions) do NOT need a hole drilled.

I will do a write up and take lots of pictures hopefully do it this Saturday

What is the difference between them ?
I know bestop had some issues with the control unit back when they first came out but other then that a quick look at them they appear to be constructed of the same material ?
I have no first knowledge of either...just things I have read on-line. (I've spent too much time doing so!)
As I understand, Bestop was using the same set-up as AMP and was selling them under an agreement with AMP. At some point, they stopped the agreement and Bestop modified the design and shipped production overseas. I have read that they are not the same quality as the AMP steps, have a shorter warranty. I don;t think the price is much different. I also seem to recall reading that an installer/seller of both stopped selling the Bestop due to quality issues.
Again...all this is things I read on-line. I do like the idea that I don't have to drill holes with tge Bestop version....
