After my '03 5.4 SD 4x4 CC Auto sits for a day or more, it has a very low and rough idle condition for about 30 seconds. In this time frame it won't take gas and has NO Power. After the initial 30 seconds of trouble there are no more problems until it sits again. The truck has done this since new and the dealer says the computer has no trouble codes stored in it. My 96 5.0 had this problem and turned out the IAC Valve was shot. Any ideas or do I have to let the dealer keep it for 3 or 4 days to see if they can replicate the problem and then diagnose it in 30 seconds. The truck has 4500 miles on it now. Thanks!
That sounds like the problem I had once or twice. It went away with no fix needed and did not need to sit for it to happen. As I remember, this link should help you out.
I had the same problem. There is a TSB out on this condition and it calls for changing the faulty oxygen sensors. Changed mine and haven't had a problem since. Good luck.
Couldn't give my truck up this week for 3 days. Oddly enough, the problem hasn't happened since my last trip to the dealership. Maybe it cured itself(LOL). I guess I'll wait and see! Thanks again!
Finally able to get truck back to dealership! I advised them of the TSB( Thanks Engager!), they replaced the O2 Sensors. The problem is now gone! I wouldn't have suspected them as the problem. Amazing that the customer has to tell the dealership what to fix! Thanks for all the support!! See 'yall later!
